Martinique has taken a major step toward joining the Caribbean Community (Caricom) as an associate member, signing an accession agreement during the 48th Regular Meeting of the Conference of Heads of Government of Caricom, in Barbados. The agreement was signed by Barbados Prime Minister Mia Mottley, chair of Caricom, and Serge Letchimy, president of the Territorial Collectivity of Martinique (CTM).
